What role do adhesives play?
The application of adhesive consists of dosing hot melt onto the flaps of corrugated cardboard sheets, die-cut and prepared for automatic assembly.
Adhesive type
Meler occasionally uses metallocene-based EVA adhesives, both in corrugated and solid board fruit and vegetable tray forming processes, and in those for forming fruit and vegetable trays in various crates models and sizes.
System components
Melting
Meler offers a wide range of melters to meet this production demand, such as the Micron + 10 or 20 with a 19 cc pump.
Transport
The system requires 4 hydraulic outlets to supply 4 applicators. Pt-100 and Ni-120 technologies are available.
Application
The pneumatic applicators required for this type of application are “automatic” (controlled by solenoid valves) and compact in size. They incorporate a filter built into the body to prevent clogging.
Recommended nozzles: 1, 2 and 3-shot RA at angles of varying degrees, generally with bores between 0.50 and 0.70.
